Peace Silver Dollar Rolls
The Peace Silver Dollar was minted from 1921 to 1928 and again in 1934 and 1935. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, the obverse features a finely chiseled portrait of Liberty. The reverse depicts an eagle perched on a rock, peering toward the sun through a series of rays. The word “Peace” is superimposed on the rock. No other U.S. coin produced for circulation has ever borne that motto.
The Peace Dollar was the last silver dollar minted for circulation in the United States. The original inspiration for the Peace Dollar called for a commemorative coin to mark the impending end of World War I.
