Obsolete Coins of Yesteryear

1916–Present

Claim a piece of American Heritage with the Obsolete Coins of Yesteryear set. Each genuine U.S. coin set is rich in history and comes in its own protective, snap-closed display case made of sturdy clear plastic. A thoughtful presentation and a gift to be treasured!

This set contains The Walking Liberty Half Dollar (1916–1947), a Washington Quarter (introduced in 1932), a Liberty Head or "Mercury" Dime (1916–1945), a silver nickel (1942–1945), and a steel penny (1943).

The Walking Liberty Half Dollar depicts Liberty carrying olive branches of peace and striding toward the dawn of a new day. The Washington Quarter was originally intended to be a commemorative issue for the 200-year anniversary of Washington's birth, but proved to be so popular, it was adopted as a regular US coin. The Mercury Dime depicts Liberty with a winged headpiece symbolizing liberty of thought. The silver nickel and steel penny were created to conserve raw nickel and copper, precious metals needed during World War II.

All are assembled in a full-color card and sealed in a 4" x 6" clear plastic display case a with stand-up easel.
